Valerie and Jonathan Wedding Day | West Cape May Fire Hall, NJ

Valerie and Jonathan are falling in love since they were in high school. They finally tied the knot this past September at the Iglesia Pentecostal Emanuel Church in Wildwood, NJ in front of their families and friends.

It was a beautiful wedding as they prepared the decoration by themselves, from the church decoration to the reception hall.

Congratulations to Valerie and Jonathan! Many blessings to you as you guys are expecting a baby girl in January 2013! We're so excited to have a maternity photo session in this coming month!

Are you prepared?

We are preparing for Hurricane Sandy as I wrote this blog.

This past summer, a violent storm hit South Jersey so bad where we lost power for 3 days on the hot summer days.
It was the most difficult thing to handle as we have our 3 months old baby with a temperature exceeded 95 degree for those 3 days.

We bought at least over 200 lbs of ice to keep our refrigerator and also our baby bed area cool.

The NOAA predicted that Hurricane Sandy will be a direct hit to the East Coast area.

Please prepare yourself for the Hurricane Sandy as it is approaching us within hours. 
Here are some of the list you can get you ready for it (cited from FEMA):

• Water, one gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking and sanitation
• Food, at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food
• Battery-powered or hand crank radio and a NOAA Weather Radio with tone alert and extra batteries for both
• Flashlight and extra batteries
• First aid kit
• Whistle to signal for help
• Dust mask to help filter contaminated air and plastic sheeting and duct tape to shelter-in-place
• Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic ties for personal sanitation
• Wrench or pliers to turn off utilities
• Manual can opener for food

If you may have generator for your house, please consider the following pre-caution on using it by the U. S. Fire Administration (USFA).

* To avoid carbon monoxide hazards:

• Always use generators outdoors, away from doors, windows and vents.
• Never use generators in homes, garages, basements, crawl spaces, or other enclosed or partially enclosed areas, even with ventilation.
• Follow manufacturer’s instructions.
• Install battery-operated or plugin (with battery backup) carbon monoxide (CO) alarms in your home, following manufacturer’s instructions.
• Test CO alarms often and replace batteries when needed.

* To avoid electrical hazards:

• Keep the generator dry. Operate on a dry surface under an open, canopy-like structure.
• Dry your hands before touching the generator.
• Plug appliances directly into generator or use a heavy-duty outdoor-rated extension cord.
• Make sure entire extension cord is free of cuts or tears and the plug has all 3 prongs, especially a grounding pin.
• NEVER plug the generator into a wall outlet. This practice, known as backfeeding, can cause an electrocution risk to utility workers and others served by the same utility transformer.
• If necessary to connect generator to house wiring to power appliances, have a qualified electrician install appropriate equipment. Or, your utility company may be able to install an appropriate transfer switch.

* To avoid fire hazards:

• Before refueling the generator, turn it off and let it cool. Fuel spilled on hot engine parts could ignite.
• Always store fuel outside of living areas in properly labeled, nonglass containers.
• Store fuel away from any fuelburning appliance.

NYIP - Photo Walk V | Brooklyn, NY - DUMBO Area

Summer season is over... Hope all of you had a great one!



This blog post is an overdue from New York Indonesian Photographer (NYIP) - Photo Walk that we did back in March 2012.



You probably wondering why it was jumping to the PhotoWalk V from the last post on PhotoWalk II. It is because I did not come to the PhotoWalk III and IV as I was a bit busy with our soon to be newborn baby girl... It will be another blog post on that :D.




It was cold and wet afternoon as we did our Photo Walk that day. We had 10 people who joined in the rain and learned about off-flash camera techniques.



As usual, we cannot go doing PhotoWalk with an empty stomach. We ate an Indonesian Food at Java Village in Elmhurst, NY.

Valerie and Jonathan Engagement Session - Love on the Court | North Cape May, New Jersey

As you see these pictures of Valerie and Jonathan, you can sense their love towards each other!

They are so adorable … enjoying time together as Jonathan drives around in a suburban area in New Jersey.

We are head out to a local library first as Valerie would like to get more information about wedding preparation but as you can see Jonathan are a bit clueless :). Then, we went to the basketball court and the beach for some fun!
